AWARE is continuing to offer lots of support for its members despite the current restrictions! We are holding weekly Zoom support sessions that cover a wide range of topics such as challenging behaviour, mental health issues, sensory issues and speech and language. We are also running some in-person activity sessions for children and young people as well as our Moving-on Club for young adults on Zoom.
Not only this, our monthly newsletter and e-update, plus our closed Facebook group and member-only website section, are packed full of useful information and advice for parents and carers of autistic children and young people. Our members continue to offer lots of support to each other and our staff are always on hand too, if you need extra help.
Becoming an AWARE member offers all of this and more and costs £15 a year. You can find out more and sign up here.
We need some advice and support. We are new to this autism and mental health and currently struggling with both social services and CAHMS. We appear to be stuck in between them both …not moving forward and struggling any advice would be gratefully received !!??
Hi Wendy, could you email info@aware-uk.org and tell us a bit more about the challenges and we’ll see what we can suggest. Once you are accepted into our Facebook group, you can also post on there to ask for advice – there will bound to be members who have been through similar problems. Thanks, Becci.
