“Dylan loves to come to Aware days because he enjoys the fact that he can be himself and play. We don’t get to feel like this at many places. We have enjoyed trips such as Inglebrough where we met other families and did things we would never normally do. Dylan has also enjoyed Herd Farm, which was his first trip alone without any family. The staff at Aware are amazing with him and I trust them to look after him and support him when he is away.”
Rachel Rowe, mum to Dylan.
“George is now 18 and has been coming to Aware since he was five. He loves the residentials and trip clubs which give him his independence. These help with his confidence and social skills and he has fun at the same time.
George also loves cooking club and the craft activities and has now started to do lots of baking at home.Wendy, mum to George.
Elliot always enjoys his time at Aware. He attends Stay & Play sessions during the holidays where he can cook, improve his cycling skills or just play. He particularly looks forward to meeting his friends on a Friday evening at Youth Club.
Julie, mum to Elliot
“Ewan loves Saturday club. He loves the range of activities and the freedom of the group. As a parent it’s amazing to take him somewhere where nobody judges-everyone ‘gets it’!”
